I would amend said review, For the mystety the solution is more satisfying than noted in there, for the story and era. . Plus there’s a finale in which the tower is integral.

So according to the HNS the story has a “crystal clear” setting.

And according to The South Philly Review, the  publication  that includes the actual Shot Tower in its coverage area, the author has crafted “characters that count.”

So with those two comments combined Shot Tower , the novel, has a ceystal clear setting populated  with characters that count.
