Story: Shot Tower is about the journey of two young friends, Harry, son of Irish immigrants, and Silas, African-American Quaker. Harry discovers his mother has been murdered and becomes obsessed with finding the Southerner he suspects is the killer. He and Silas carry on the search when the are recruited as scouts and travel with the Union fleet that assaults Port Royal, South Carolina.
