White House of the Confederacy

Strolled over for a second look at it today. Far less impressive than the US White House but probably the nicest house in Richmond at the time of the war. Built in 1819 for a doctor. Jefferson Davis and family lived there until the day the Confederates evacuated Richmond on 2 April 1865. Lincoln visited the house two days later. He was assassinated ten days after that,
